Cut Hanson or Kendrick?

Postby scorpiorlr » Thu Mar 08, 2012 12:02 pm

I have to cut one of these players. Who should I cut my thoughts are Hanson should go with his arm questions? I know Kendrick is not a great keeper but with a stacked team his numbers should go up. I also have pick 9.1 meaning I get the first pick in our draft so if whoever I cut is a must must have I can always take them back. What are your thoughts?

8 Keepers only

1. Elvis Andrus SS Rangers
2. Adam Jones OF Orioles
3. Mike Trout OF Angels
4. Billy Butler 1B Royals
5. Stephen Strasburg SP Nationals
6. Josh Beckett SP Redsox
7. Tommy Hanson SP Braves
8. Howie Kendrick 2b Angels
9. Ian Kennedy SP Dbacks

These are the other guys I have cut already.

Gordon Beckham (No)
Freddie Freeman (Maybe)
Adam Lind (No)
Juan Pierre (No)
Mark Reynolds Maybe...Ks Kill)
Drew Stubbs (Maybe)
Kurt Suzuki (No)
Josh Willingham (No)
Heath Bell (Maybe)
Chris Carpenter (Maybe)
Bartolo Colón (No)
John Danks (N0)
Aaron Harang (No)
David Hernández (No)
Edwin Jackson (No)
Jair Jurrjens (Maybe)
Cory Luebke (No)
Chris Sale (No)

Thanks in advance for your help.

I'd probably cut Hanson. His arm troubles worry me and Kendrick is solid at a weak position. The only guy I'd consider on your already cut list is Stubbs but I think you have it right.

I'd cut Kendrick. 2B is deeper than ever and I don't see anything special about Kendrick.

See I was thinking the same and the decision is still not easy. Hanson has the arm troubles but Kendrick can put up some solid numbers....Crap still stuck lol

I would easily cut Hanson. Stras, Beckett, and Kennedy is easily enough pitching to start with.

Cut Hanson, you already have some SP and you can get more in the draft/

I agree. I am worried about that arm.

Yes he's shown some injury issues, but keeping Hanson would give you an insane rotation. He's your 3rd or 4th best starter and will perform like an ace this year. He's fixed the hitch in his delivery that was a major cause to his injury. Were you guys aware of this?
