Looking for some help with my keepers. In my league, keepers are kept in the round that they were drafted in the previous year, and move up one round in each subsequent season (hope that makes sense, don't really know if this is a common set-up). I have already decided to keep Miguel Cabrera in round 1 (8th pick), just looking for a little advice on my remaining 4. I can keep up to 5 players total and no more than 3 pitchers or 3 position players. Here are the guys I've narrowed it down to with the round they would be kept in:
Rickie Weeks (13) Pedro Alvarez (17) Domonic Brown (21) D. Freese (22)
T. Lincecum (4) Z. Greinke (14) Michael Pineda (23)
It's a 12-team roto league. Thanks in advance for any help! It's much appreciated.
Weeks is never a guarantee for health, probably won't play 140 games (maybe more like 120). IMO, let someone else over spend on Weeks and keep David Freese. Good pop for the value. Could miss time, but he is a lower investment. Good avg. on freese too.
the problem with Freese is that he is already pushing close to 30 and has only put up 604 at bats worth of stats that are somewhat uninspiring and looks to be around .290 15 and very little steals, where as Weeks has proven 20+ homer power and double digits steal and a avg that won't hurt your team, even while injured plagued, still a bargain at rd 13.
Baseball is a game where a curve is an optical illusion, a screwball can be a pitch or a person, stealing is legal and you can spit anywhere you like except in the umpire's eye or on the ball. ~Jim Murray
