Here is what you need to know:
1) league is going on year five, with almost no turnover and consistently smart, active owners
2) you get a $200 discount and significant perks in Year 1 to join (your team is not great, but there is quite a bit of parity in the league, so a smart owner could make it happen year 1)
3) you will get to choose up to 30 keepers plus minor league keepers, including choosing among the keeper discards of the other teams (which only get to keep 25)
4) rules are moderately complex but easy to learn
5) cbs sportsline league
6) 8x8 with four double categories, standings tabulated based on combined AL and NL squads standings, 10 teams total (each with AL and NL squads) of 24 actives plus 7 reserves
7) live draft in Manhattan, but owners are spread throughout country and about half do the draft by phone
