Pedroira isn't a value in a 12 team league with $260 budget. You said you'd be guarenteed to save $10 if you kept him. Do you really think he would go for over $40?

Well, Pedroia's a borderline first round-second round talent. Last year, in our initial draft, 22 guys went for over $40. Now, with savings from cheap keepers...I wouldn't be surprised if good talent goes for even more. It's no guarantee, but Pedroia's is one of only three elite 2b, so I'd have to assume he'll go for at least $40+. So, while that's more of a guaranteed good value, I'm considering cheaper 2b options...keeping one of Kimbrel or Wainwright, and spending bigger on other position(s) than 2b. To whomever asked about keeping McCutchen over Jennings...Jennings is $5, Cutch would be $33. That's the difference. While I like Cutch more, he's definitely not $28 better.

Keep whichever player is the best value. If Pedroia goes for $43 at auction, that is a potential $10 savings by keeping him. Do you think Kimbrel will go for more than $16 or Wainwright for more than $15? If so those guys are the better keeper options. I would probably lean towards Wainwright. For this season they are about equal, but I would guess that in the longer run he will regain his full value and be the preferred choice.
