5x5 12-man roto. we keep three. $260 auction budget.
I'm already keeping: Justin Verlander for $23 and Desmond Jennings for $5
Now choosing between
Pedroia $33 Kimbrel $6 Wainwright $5
Of those, I feel like Wainwright has the most profit potential. He could potentially be a top 10 pitcher for $5, but I'm not a huge fan of keeping 2 SP of 3...and there's also the chance he doesn't bounce back with a big year. Pedroia is a good deal for $33, but I feel 2b is kind of deep with decent talent so I could save some money there and go cheaper. I like Kimbrel for $6 because he's hands down the best closer right now with those Ks, but keeping any closer doesn't seem smart. Thoughts? WHIR
C. McCann 1b. Agon 2b. Pedroia 3b. Arod ss. Drew OF. McCutchen OF. Sizemore OF. R. Davis U. Morse U. Beltran Bn. Yunel, Freeman SP. Verlander, Felix, Shields, B. Anderson, Bedard, Danks, Nolasco, Garza RP. Kimbrel, Bailey, Melancon, Venters DL/RP. Padilla
Would suck to have to drop someone I kept over bargains at other positions. Wainwright has the best potential but is also the riskiest. With Pedroia I'd be saving a guaranteed $10 on what he'd go for, and I'd have 2b locked up.

I would like to compare the price of Pedroia to someone like Kinsler or players that are valued around his draft position. If 33 is a good price for him. I think I would keep Pedroia. Kimbrel seems like a great bargain at $6, but I don't necessarily love keeping 2 Pitchers and no elite bat (Jennings is not an elite bat)
If you tell me that you should be able to grab an elite bat or two without breaking your budget, than I would keep Kimbrel, if not I would consider Pedroia.

Pedroira isn't a value in a 12 team league with $260 budget. You said you'd be guarenteed to save $10 if you kept him. Do you really think he would go for over $40?

I'd go with one of those pitchers
I would like to know this as well. Why do you think Pedroia will go for $40+ at auction? I feel that Kimbrel is your best bet. Wainwright is very nice as well but typically after TJ, pitchers aren't back to their old self plus he will be on an innings limit. Kimbrel could falter as well but if he stays healthy, he will be the #1 closer with no question. No one else has his kind of stuff. I usually don't like closers but he will likely go for $10+ over what you can keep him for.

I think your biggest mistake is keeping Jennings over McCutcheon, I find the purpose of keepers is to give yourself a head start somewhere and he is hands down the best player followed by Dustin. I would almost go Cutch, Jennings then look at the caliber of your outfield. Also if Verlander is decent priced it's kind of hard to send him back is it not?
