11 team auction league. $450 payroll. We can keep one player at last years price. We have Rasmus ($1), Stubbs ($10), Shields ($3) or Longoria ($75). Should we bite the bullet and keep Longo or save the cash and keep a lesser player? Stats are HR, AVG, R, RBI, SB for hitters. W-L, ERA, WHIP, K's for Pitchers. Please advise. Leave link and WHIR.

The best value in my opinion is James Shields for $3. You will be able to get a top 20 hitter for $75 or less, but you won't find another top 20 SP for $3!

ooofa! I'd have a tough time having 1 player take up 1/6 of my cap. How many players do you draft? What is the top range of $$ paid for a single player? I'd lean towards throwing him back and getting him back at a cheaper price than $75 in auction.
Keep Shields at $3

I agree - you keep Shields here and throw back Longo at that price.

Go with value and save your cash for the draft. You can always get Longoria back and possibly cheaper.

I have to agree. Longo will probably end up going for right around $75. So, not much value with him.
Sheilds will be going for way more then $3. I go with him.
