1st Draft of the Year 10 team h2h WHIR!!!

Postby Tayma » Tue Mar 06, 2012 2:14 am

After a one year forced hiatus Im back in the fantasy baseball game. I missed pretty much all of the regular season while away at basic training and boy does it look like I missed alot. And honestly not really sure what to think of my team... Anyways scoring goes like this,
Hitting categories are: Runs (R), Home Runs (HR), Runs Batted In (RBI), Stolen Bases (SB), Batting Average (AVG), On-base Percentage (OBP), Slugging Percentage (SLG).

While the pitching cats are: Innings Pitched (IP), Wins (W), Saves (SV), Strikeouts (K), Earned Run Average (ERA), (Walks + Hits)/ Innings Pitched (WHIP), Quality Starts (QS)

C M.Weiters (C)
1b M.Teixeira (1b)
2b I.Kinsler (2b)
3b P.Sandoval (1b,3b)
ss J.Hardy (ss)
MI H.Kendrick (1b,2b,OF)
CI D.Ackley (2b)
OF M.Kemp (OF)
OF BJ Upton (OF)
OF C.Young (OF)
UTIL E.Aybar (SS)
UTIL E.Encarnacion (1b,3b)
BN. Y.Molina (C)
BN. J.Willingham (OF)
BN. A.Soriano (OF)
BN. G.Jones (1b,OF)
BN. S.Rodriguez (2b,3b,ss)

SP. C.Hamels (Phi)
SP. Y.Gallardo (MIL)
SP. M. Garza (CHC)
RP. C. Kimbrel (ATL)
RP. S.Santos (TOR)
RP. C.Perez (CLE)
P. G.Gonzalez (WAS)
P. R.Dempster (CHC)
P. Colby Lewis (TEX)
P. T.Stauffer (SD)
BN. E.Volquez (SD)

Not to terribly thrilled with my pitchers, but im pretty sure my bench slot for pitchers will just be to pick up starters off the wire. ANYWAYS!!! Rate my team and leave links and ill help as best as i can!!!

Post FA: I would drop
BN. A.Soriano (OF)
BN. G.Jones (1b,OF)
BN Y. Molina C -
for more upside plays and another arm. I need an in-depth listing please inclduing prospects that might be in your player pool.
At worst get rid of Jones and Molina, I can see keeping Soriano he will give you 25-30 homers but nothing else.

I also like the idea of dropping some guys to pick up upside rookies, especially for your pitching staff. Since it's 10 teams, there might be a team out there who is interested in Molina's steady average (woohooyawn), but probably as an extra piece in a trade. If you can't trade him, drop him.

I think your team looks pretty good overall for being a year away. I would be a little worried about batting average (or be prepared to punt it) and Wins might be tough, but I think that most other categories are well represented.

Agree completely. There has to be some upside sitting on the wire somewhere.

Is there any specific players to look for? Cause the waiver wire is chalked full of OF's ive never heard of before.

Missed out on last year so I honestly have no clue how Kemp jumped up to 3rd overall...

Batting Average does worry me a little bit. But if I have to punt then ill punt :D

But yeah Yadier was picked up mainly to be trade bait.

Yes Belt easily over Jones (even if it is at worst a stash!)
You have Wills/Soriano on your bench so that's a nice amount of power so no need for Melky.
Link to league please...

Aaron crow needs to be rostered in a keeper and is a good young upside starter for the back end of your rotation. As far as who to drop well you have a couple options.
