which website(s)? one nice thing on CBS is that you can pull team total stats after you draft, which gives you a rough idea of how you fared. you could also look at this: razzball.com/what-it-takes-to-win-your-fantasy-baseball-league
a general rule of thumb is that you want to be in the top 3 of each category.
digging a little deeper, on your first team you have Trout, Lavarnway, Rizzo and Cespedes. If it's not a keeper, I don't get it. And you have Youk and Berkman, injury risks with Dunn as your backup.
your second team looks stacked and balanced. Roberts is serviceable, but then maybe Freese stays on the field too. The Santana gamble is nice. Not sure what the rationale is on Robertson in a non-holds league. your last team is pretty good as well, though I would think on a 10 team you could do a little better than Aviles. He isn't even assured of more than a platoon. Cody Ross strikes me as someone you could drop.
You seem to favor high-end starters and waiting on relievers, which I think is smart. so you went Ellsbury/Holliday, AGon/Holliday and Tulo/Holliday?
my first team is on MLB.com (thus the entire pitching staff), the other two are ESPN.
its not a keeper, but I'm thinking at least one of them breaks out & then I can sell high.
I have Robertson because I'm predicting Mariano will be injured/ineffective this year & Robertson will be the closer. on my third team, I drafted pitchers in the 2nd, 3rd, & 4th rounds, so I couldn't grab any good infielder & thought Aviles could be serviceable, I also just dropped Lowrie, Salty, & Ross for Robertson, Santos, & Santana.
the reason I had Holliday on all my teams is because he's somehow always available in the 4th or 5th round, I don't know if people are down on him or I'm just overrating him, in my first two rounds I went Ells/Pedroia, Tulo/Pedroia, & A-Gon/Kershaw.
one guy scares me in my points league, he has an infield of McCann/A-Gon/Cano/Beltre.
I just finished drafting my fourth (& final) team, it was on MLB.com:
1 Troy Tulowitzki (SS, U, COL)
2 Dustin Pedroia (2B, U, BOS)
3 Mike Napoli (C, 1B, U, TEX)
4 Matt Holliday (OF, U, STL)
5 Kevin Youkilis (3B, U, BOS)
6 Shin-Soo Choo (OF, U, CLE)
7 David Ortiz (1B, U, BOS)
8 Nick Markakis (OF, U, BAL)
9 Billy Butler (1B, U, KC)
10 Boston Red Sox (P, BOS)
11 Adam Dunn (1B, U, CWS)
12 Carlos Quentin (OF, U, SD)
13 Anthony Rizzo (1B, U, CHC)
14 Yoenis Cespedes (OF, U, OAK)
15 Vernon Wells (OF, U, LAA)
16 Mike Trout (OF, U, LAA)
