Postby footballisbetter.com » Sun Mar 04, 2012 10:55 pm

I get to choose 1 more player to extend at last years price.

Here are my current keepers:
A Gonzalez- $36 for this year
Hosmer- $10 for the next 2 years
Posey- $1 for the next 2 years
Lawrie- $1 for the next 2 years

Here are my "best" options for my last one:
Hardy- $1
Pagan- $1
Gaby Sanchez- $2
Leubke- $1

Luebke is the hot pick these days, and for a dollar that is a pretty good price to keep him at to see what he does. I feel that Hardy and Pagan are getting up there in years and may not be dependable as keepers. Sanchez is a solid option, but you already have two 1B's. I say Luebke.

Thanks!

FWIW, this last pick will be keeper eligible for this upcoming season only.

And if Sanchez is the pick, I have a 1B, CI and Utility slot...so I could possible carry 3 first basemen.

I would take Hardy for $1 and this way you do not need to concentrate on the SS position and have it filled on the cheap. At $1 there is not much to lose even if Hardy regresses to 260 20 Hrs/70 rbis.

Pitchers like Leubke can be had in the middle rounds of any draft or auction and be obtained on the cheap. Sanchez you do not need and Pagan is nothing special.

I like Luebke, but Hardy for $1 beats that.

How many teams in your league? More than 12 teams, an addition MI spot, or many SS keepers from other teams would make me want to take Hardy.

Otherwise Leubke is the play.

Either Hardy or Luebke. Decision comes down to depth of the league and number of teams in the league.
