Crazy to throw back Roy Halladay? WHIR

Postby sigriffey » Sun Mar 04, 2012 10:12 pm

I'm in a 12-team H2H keeper league and have 12th and 13th pick. I get to keep 6 players going into the draft. I had such a hard time deciding whether to keep Hanley or Cargo because both are extremely scarce in this draft. I am now exploring a different direction...

Question: Would I be CRAZY to keep all bats and toss back Roy Halladay? This would probably means I take pitching with my first 2-4 picks. Below are guys that ought to be available and I've indicated my draft spots and who I estimate to be around. Any thoughts? It's extremely hard to throw back a guy with those wins, CGs and ratios but it's also hard to toss back those bats. I'd be stacked in hitting... But what say you? And who to target with my picks?

No way I send Halladay back for the likes of Hanley Ramirez at this point. If you could guarantee yourself that you would get Kershaw or Verlander as your first pick, then I would have no problem with that, but since you can't I kleep the money in the bank in Halladay and let someone else risk HRam.

Got to agree with above. Let someone else to a chance on Han-Ram and keep Roy. Especially considering CG is a category.

I love Hanley too but as you told me on PM, I would take 2 years of Cargo and 1 year of Halladay over 1 year of Hanley. Besides the availability of scarce top OF really concerns me. I guess a few teams are loaded with good OF, and OF is deep eys, but with thist list...

Hey man,

The only thing is that it's the opposite. I have 2 years of Hanley OR 1 year of Cargo. The scarcity of outfield is a concern, but so is the prospect of tossing two years of Hanley back into the draft. What to do!?

I'd still take 1 year of Car-Go over 2 of God knows what from Hanley.

I think the main problem is that I have never owned Hanley (asside from in a trade last year), so I'm tempted by the potential.
