Better Keeper in an auction...

Postby SecretAgentMan » Sun Mar 04, 2012 9:00 pm

5x5 Roto, 10 team, deep bench, keep 8 auction format\$300 budget, 22\9 lineup (2C).

Last keeper slot between:
Crawford ($4)
Choo ($1)
Posey ($3)
Montero ($1)
As. Cabrera ($6)
Victorino ($14)

Who do you like for the last slot? Crawford and his injury now is an issue to add in with Choo and his injury concerns. I hate keeping Cs. Does anyone really trust As. Cabrera? Victorino does not look like much of a bargain. Auction inflation is high.

My 7 set Keepers:
Tex ($19)
Tulo ($13)
Longoria ($6)
Bourn ($4)
R. Zimmerman ($1)
Halladay ($26)
Kershaw ($15)
Total: $84

Choo at $1 is an easy choice to me.

I think Choo at his price is definitely worth the risk. He'll help Bourn with the SBs and even with his history, for a dollar you're not gambling a whole lot.

Another vote for Choo here. At a dollar its a solid pick.

Always been a Crawford fan so $4 for him was looking like it was worth the gamble until recently. Now I have serious doubts if he misses time. Then again, I do not trust Choo and hate keeping Cs. Not much of a gamble for a buck I know.

When do you have to decide? If you can wait and see what happens with Crawford I would do that. If you can't I think I would gamble with Montero.

Under league rules I can pull a player back due to injury up to the point of the auction, which is in late March. We declare an alternate for the purpose of late Spring injuries and the like. So I could declare Crawford and then effectively change my mind with the alternate given the current Crawford situation.

Why don't you trust Choo?
Just had a injury problem year.
Is that Jesus or Miguel Montero?

Choo burned me last year with his injuries and DUI head-case nonsense...of course Crawford did me in just as badly with his choke in Boston stuff....and so did Posey getting hurt. All three combined to wreck my team so I have a varying degree of distrust with them all. Rational...maybe...or maybe a bit paranoid on my part.

It is Jesus Montero =...should have noted that before. I had him on the cheap on the reserve bench in the league.
