Well, last night was a disaster. His control was cringe worthy at times, bouncing a number of (I think) fastballs past/over Montero. There were 1 or 2 that didn't even make the dirt...
On a side note, he was absolutely drenched in sweat from the get go. I know he has a very particular warm up routine, but an hour and a half does seem to be a bit much.

I remember a lot of people disregarding all the walks Bauer piled up in the minors... turns out he has trouble throwing strikes and could use more time in the minors. I hope this leads to Collmenter getting his job back, he's been pretty good lately.
Yeah, I was one of those who disregarded his walk issue. But I was thinking more like 4 BB/9 innings like he did in the minor, not 18 BB/9 innings! This guy needs to stay down in the minor to work out his kinks. As a fly-ball pitcher, he's going to get beaten up pretty badly in Arizona. Don't think he has much worth in fantasy this year. Next year, I think he'll be good, if you can improve his control.
Problem with Bauer and the walks is that he himself didn't seem to think they're an issue. Hope this trip to the majors was as sobering for him as it was my fantasy team.

Collmenter is horrible
Generally I'd agree with you, as I believe it was in this very thread (or another Bauer thread) that I stated how Bauer was already better than Collmenter and Saunders. But Collmenter has changed something recently (read an article a while back, too lazy to look for it) and he's been pretty damn good the past 2 months (30 IP). A lot of it has been in the bullpen but he's gone at least 3 innings in 6 of those games so it's not all one-inning/max-effort games. His numbers: 26 K% (more than a K per inning), 7 BB%, 0.90 ERA, 1.13 WHIP. And he's going to be regularly facing the Giants, Padres, Rockies and Dodgers throughout the second half. Bench him for the one or two Coors games he might have, and you've got a pretty solid starter in deep leagues.
Hes only ok when he faces a lineup 1 time max. Its the second time through the lineup that he gets crushed. Besides he had an awesome 6-7 game streak to start last season as well, and that obviously turned out to be a small size fluke. Hes not a good pitcher.
