This kid is going to be special... looked absolutely filthy for the first taste of spring ball. Not one hit left the infield.
14% k rate in 24 minor innings last year after leading all of college in that regaurd... extremely durable threw college thanks in large part to his training refining regimine.
It's going to be extremely hard to send him down if he looks like that all spring, get him WHILE YOU CAN.
ESPN's Keith Law who attended the game to watch Trevor Bauer and Drew Pomeranz:
"That being said, Trevor Bauer, the third overall pick last June, was in midseason form right out of the chute. Bauer threw two quick innings, sitting 92-95 with a plus curveball that he located much better than he did either time I saw him last spring, when he'd get college hitters to swing and miss at sharp breaking balls in the dirt. If Bauer's two innings are a harbinger of what he'll do across 180 innings this year, then he'd be the Diamondbacks' best starter this year; every outing they give Josh Collmenter or Joe Saunders over Bauer shaves a tiny but nonzero amount off their odds of winning the NL West." - Keith Law
Haven't done too much reading on Bauer yet, to be honest. Is he expected to reach the majors this year? What kind of innings limit are we looking at? Pretty much a given that he's shut down in Sept? Who do you like more in a dynasty, Shelby Miller or Trevor Bauer?
1 RHP Ian Kennedy 2 RHP Trevor Cahill 3 RHP Daniel Hudson 4 LHP Joe Saunders 5 RHP Joshua Collmenter
Unless one of these guys above gets hurt this spring ... he's a mid season callup. He will be up at some point, but I wouldn't expect more than 130-140 innings with the D-Backs this season.
It doesn't matter how bad Collmenter and Saunders are (probably gonna be pretty bad) they'll leave him in the minors for now to get an extra year of control.

Collmenter and Saunders aren't bad. Bauer is simply a shiny new prospect with great upside. He'll get his chance this season.

I take Trevor Bauer but i might be in the minority there.

Although i do agree with this and hope they wait on him, however i agree with Keith Law in saying if Trevor pitches like he did in his first start he's going to force them to add him to the rotation.
Yes i would expect an inning limit with him as well but remember this kid has proven to be as durable as they come, thanks in large part to his long toss and extreme workout regime.

They're pretty bad. Its an easy argument that they're the worst two starters in that cakewalk division. Anyway, no matter how good Bauer is I find it impossible to imagine they'll bring him up before May, or even the Super 2 cutoff in June. It's nice to say that a guy can earn his way by being so good, but when it could cost the team $15M+ it kinda outweighs a month or two of bad PR. The Giants made a huge mistake with Lincecum in which calling him up a week before the super 2 cutoff cost them $22M. Baseball is a business, it's hard to ignore that kind of money.
