Darvish or Michael Young with 1st Pick

Postby upstate32 » Sun Mar 04, 2012 9:50 am

Debating between Young and Darvish. I would plug Young into 2B, but if I draft Darvish I wouldn't have to draft another pitcher as the innings are capped at 1250 IP for the year.

Here's my 10 Keepers.

1B- Votto
3B- D Wright
OF- Bruce
OF- BJ Upton
Util - Fielder

SP- Haren
SP- Wainwright
SP- Strasberg
SP- Ian Kennedy
SP- CJ Wilson

Young - fill your bats first, you have a solid pitching core and you could easily fill your SP hole with a later pick but your 2B and other positions will fill quickly

Young. You don't need another SP the rest of your draft.

ung, he can play multiple spots, and he is proven. when is the last time a pitcher from Japan came over and really stood out?

Young for sure, your pitching is deep enough as is.

Without looking elsewhere, I am suggesting Young.... Seeing your pitching, just reaffirms me.

Hideo Nomo
Kaz Sasaki

IMO, Darvish has the best track record in Japan of any pitcher

Give me Darvish. Maybe I am a sucker for the upside he has. I like Young but I think he gets more attention then he deserves. Heck you could get a lot more than Young back in trade if you wanted to deal Darvish.
