Is Braun too expensive to keep?

Postby MrT » Sat Mar 03, 2012 5:27 pm

12 team , $260 mixed 5 x5, 23 man roster. Keepers are for this year only. Each team can keep 5. Other teams are keeping Kemp at $29, J Upton @$24, Ellsbury @25 and possibly Langoria at $34. The only other high priced players eligible to be kept are Votto @ $37 and Varlos Gonzalez @$38 and Tuylo at $45. I doubt that they will be kept.

My eligible keepers are Haren @$13, Walden @$1, Jordon Zimmerman @$10, Matt Morse @$10, Braun @$36.

I also could keep (depending on whether they are named starters/closer) are Belt @$1, Dee Gordon @$ 10, and Kensley Jansen @$10.

The question is just keep Braun at a fair price of try and get someone at a bettere value by trading Braun or just keeping one ogf the other possible keepers. If I throw Braun back he will probably exceed $36 and I probably won't get him and will end up with someone else like Votto.

I'd keep Braun at $36. It's a good price for him.

Haren @$13, Walden @$1, Jordon Zimmerman @$10, Matt Morse @$10, Braun @$36, Belt-1

Hmm that's a steal for a low end ace in Haren. In fact that is insane value. Zimm is meh. Morse solid value there. Braun is a top 5 pick its worth that.

Yes Braun is worth keeping. If you can deal him for something cheaper, then do it. I would also keep Belt if you can.

Braun would probably go mid 40s if you let him go. Keep him.

Braun is a top 5 player, based on the fact that Tulo is going for 45, Votto for 37, CarGo at 38 and Longoria for 34, Braun at 36 is not only a good keep but he might even be a little bit of a bargain.
