Draft position; WHIR

Postby saemick » Fri Mar 02, 2012 8:12 pm

I have my choice of draft position and could use a little help. I'm thinking either:

pick 1
or
pick 10/11

12-team H2H Redraft league with: R, HR, RBI, SB, BA, OPS as stat cats.

My thoughts: I love getting Miggy & a combo of Wright/Kinsler/McCutchen/ Stanton in picks 2 & 3, but in a lot of the mocks I've done, I was able to get Longo & Fielder at the 10/11 spot.

Not, this is obviously just the 1st 2 rounds, but which spot would you rather have?

I like the Miggy/Wright/Kinsler angle myself. Just a preference.

There isn't a consensus pick and players grouped rather immersely I'd take 10/11 ;-D

I'm voting for the 1st spot in the draft. Especially in a league with OPS. The 1st pick will ensure you get a top player there.

Your plan makes sense too (with Miggy then Wright/Stanton/Kinsler/etc.). Just keep in mind that having book end picks means you will have to plan a lot more in your draft and reach for players that you really want on your team.

I like playing with the swing vote, but your shared strategy and experience with mock drafts suggest go with #1. Well played.
