$255 Salary Cap - Help Me Blow My Last $50

Postby Remotethumb » Thu Mar 01, 2012 9:56 pm

12 team h2h 5x5 $255 salary cap

My team is not pretty, but it's a salary cap league. We gotta scrimp somewhere in our lineup. Also, during the draft some top players (esp. RPS) are left on the wire.

I've done a good job saving some cash. I have $62 left. I only need 7 more players for my bench. I have enough $$ and there are enough good players left so I have some options. My team has a lot of holes but I can make it work.

1. Go big on a RP and another 3B...(Michael Young is sitting there for $25, Axford $24, Kimbrel $28) This would leave me nothing for my bench (which I don't mind too much)

2. Just grab SPs the rest of the way. There are a good bit of guys around the $15 range. I could grab 3 or so of these guys to bolster my bad SP (Kuroda $14, J. Beckett $17, U. Jimenez $17, D. Hudson $18, Dempster $11, T. Hudson $18....)

3. Does my outfield need help?

My team:

C- Je. Montero $5 (cheaper b/c I brought him up)
1b - Votto $16 (1 half price player, can't cut if we take the discount)
2b - R. Weeks $23
3b - Moustakas $8 (discount)
ss - Tulowitzki $31
OF1- Swisher $8
OF2- Heyward $15
OF3 - McCutchen $29
DH- Konerko $21
SP1- Bumgarner $20
SP2 - Beachy $8 (discount)
SP3- Jurrjens $3
SP4- Jo. Santana $3
SP5- C. Sale $4
RP1 - B. Myers $2
RP2- J. Guerra $2

Since we don't know your roster its a little hard, but I like Daniel Hudson at $18 out of the players you posted.

Also, Luebke at $11, Jordan Zimmerman at $16, Marcum at $15, Er. Santana at $13....any of these over D. Hudson?

Okay, thanks for all the advice. Zimmerman was picked right before me, which I did not expect...But I took Luebke at $11 and then Daniel hudson at $18 so I'm not too disappointed.

So, do I go big on Axford or similiar price RP or should I get 1 more SP and a guy like Farnsworth for $13. Dempster is still there at $11, along with Colby Lewis at $11, Ogando at $10) So I could go the Farnsworth/Dempster way, costing me $24 for both. That would leave me $4 for 3 last bench spots.

If I take Axford at $24, it will leave $1 each for of my remaining bench players.

I think my hesitation is I usually find saves on the wire, but having a "near" sure fire closer would be nice.

(Other closer choices, Drew Storen $22, Putz $22, marmol $21, Brian Wilson $19, Soria $18, Hanrahan $18)

C- Je. Montero $5 (cheaper b/c I brought him up)
1b - Votto $16 (1 half price player, can't cut if we take the discount)
2b - R. Weeks $23
3b - Moustakas $8 (discount)

SP1- Bumgarner $20
SP2 - Beachy $8 (discount)
SP3- D. Hudson $18
SP4- Luebke $11
SP5- C. Sale $4

RP1 - B. Myers $2
RP2- J. Guerra $2

BN1 Jo. Santana $3 (SP)
BN2 Jurrjens $3 (SP)
