Trade for Matt Moore?

Postby UrbanatorNation » Thu Mar 01, 2012 1:23 am

And no, I'm not looking to get the crappy Dolphins QB on my baseball team.....

The offer would have me getting Matt Moore for Evan Longoria and Anibal Sanchez in a keeper league with no restriction on the length we can keep players. Current keepers:

1B Gonzo
3B Miggy
OF Cargo
OF Bruce

SP Kershaw
SP Verlander
SP Lee
SP Sanchez

I could just keep Longoria and put back Bruce, but that means I'd be basically keeping a guy in my utility spot and not in the field. There is also the question of how many innings Moore pitches this season. But I'd presumably have him for the next 10 years.

Thanks

nope. unless you're getting first round talent back for longoria, just deal with your UTIL slot being full.

No way. Yes Moore is front of line up future Cy Young candidate, BUT, Longoria is a stud now and will be for a number of years. Remember this, Mark Prior was pitchings next coming of Christ. Turned out to be a slug after Dusty blew his arm out.

Do you have to keep 4 hitters & 4 pitchers? If not, you should just keep Longo and Bruce and toss Anibal back.

But yeah, you gotta get more than just Moore back for Longo. A lot more. A lot lot more. Or you just be happy that your UTIL spot is well taken care of.

FYI -- I've got Moore in a league without limitations on how long we can keep someone, and I'm hoping to have him for 10+ years myself....but I'd trade him for Longo straight up in a heartbeat.

If you are trading Longoria and Anibal for a pitcher you should be getting back Kershaw, and I still don't think I would do that. No way I do this, I would throw back Bruce if I had to and realize that having M-Cab, Cargo, Gonzo, and Longoria is a ridiculous problem to have unless this is a six team league.

I LOVE Moore as a keeper option, but there is no way you give up Longoria for him. I wouldn't throw Bruce back either. Maybe try trading Bruce for something?
Here's the pitch on the way, a swing and a belt! Left field! Way back! BLUE JAYS WIN!

Does Miguel Cabrera already have 3B eligibility in your league? If not, then don't start counting him as a 3B just yet. It could take him a while to actually get that eligibility.

No way would I do this trade. Moore is great but we really don't know what he will do and Longoria has shown that he can be a top 10 player overall.

I would also keep Bruce over Sanchez.
