Choosing 5 keepers

Postby perlick29 » Wed Feb 29, 2012 9:57 am

I have midnight deadline to get my keepers in. It's a standard 5X5 roto league. I made the list big and now have to pare down to 5. Thanks, whoever posts will get help in return. I think the kids call it WHIR.

1) Zack Greinke
2) Mat Latos
3) Jordan Zimmermann
4) Daniel Hudson
5) Sergio Santos
6) Andrew Bailey
7) Nelson Cruz
8) Ian Kinsler
9) Kevin Youkilis
10) Asdrubal Cabrera
11) Shane Victorino

Forget the man crush. I drop what I'm doing to watch Zack Greinke pitch.

I prefer keeping hitting over pitching, but Greinke is too good to throw back. So I would keep your first 4 hitters and Greinke

Help me?

This is what I would pick as well. I stack hitting as much as possible...but Grienke is a tier above everyone else there.

Ian Kinsler - 100% Keeper, would be mental not to
Zack Greinke - Tier 1 pitcher in my opinion, a 100% keeper
Nelson Cruz - Best HR/RBI guy in your list, gotta keep him
Asdrubal Cabrera - Young guy coming into his own, breakout year last year, Tier 2 SS, worth keeping but slightly risky
Kevin Youkilis - Debatable choice, but in my view he is slightly worse that Victorino, but OF is an easy position to fill and 3B is slim pickins.

I agree. The first 4 are no brainers. I'm not a fan of Youk anymore, too injury prone for my taste, so I would go for a tossup between Zimmerman/Latos/Hudson. I wouldn't argue against anyone that prefered Youk.
Here's the pitch on the way, a swing and a belt! Left field! Way back! BLUE JAYS WIN!
