So I'm in a 10 team keeper league. We get to keep a player at one round higher then the previous year. Last season I took Matt Weiters in the 12th round and Mike Morse was selected in the 22nd round. Obviously Morse is the better value but the best catchers will be kept and I'm already keeping two OF's (Stanton, Bruce) and a 1B (Hosmer). So I'm thinking Morse might be expendable. BUT, having Morse as a last round keeper is pretty tempting... thoughts? Thanks and WHIR!!
I've been thinking about my keepers since the end of last season. Hadn't considered keeping Weiters until tonight... probably cause it's a dumb call. Thanks for the advice.
Any thoughts on keeping Mike Trout over Morse? I have Trout for next to nothing and could have him for his whole career on the cheap. Or is he too young to keep through the ups and downs?
I like Wieters more. I usually don't like keeping catchers but I am also not sold on Morse. I think Wieters takes a nice step forward this year. Wieters also has a ton of upside where Morse probably can't do any better than he did last year and I am not sure he will repeat even that.

Personally, I would keep Weiters here instead of Morse. He's still only 25... all the metrics you look at to improve for a hitter (k%, bb%, etc.) have been trending in the right direction for 2 seasons now. His post all-star performance is another sign he may soon become the .900 OPS catcher we all thought he could be.
To me Morse is just another guy who had a career year and plays a deep position (1b).
I would keep Trout over Morse too... especially with no costs. Probably over Weiters too.

Okay, now I'm back to sqaure one. Lovely. All good input though and I appreciate it. Cheers!
