Hey all! I don't ask questions often here, but I'm stumped on this one. I'm in a 5x5 slow-auction league, but with the exception of OBP over AVG.
We nominate one player a day, and then we can bid on a the nominated players on a message board.
I have one OF spot left to fill. Looking for an OBP OFer who will hopefully crank out countables. Not sure who to go with tomorrow:
1. Matt Joyce: problems vs LHP may limit his AB, meaning I'll have to fill in with a reserve OF sometimes 2. Lucas Duda: has potential but only really has half an MLB season and MiLB stats to go off of 3. Yonder Alonso: a lock for 1B, qualifies for OF in league, but there are concerns about his ability to hit for power (MiLB power record is lacking)
They all have some questions to them, and I'm not sure who I should target. At this point all countables are great, with a slightly stronger need for runs over RBI and HR.
Question, one player a day? If you have a standard 13/9 bats and pitchers with 14 teams, that auction would take 308 days. You fellas are some patient mofo's.

*LOL* No, one player per team, 15 teams, so 15 players a day. It's a little odd, but it seems to be working very well. And thanks!
I think Duda has more upside potential, but you know what you are getting with Joyce. If you feel like you want more upside go with Duda, if you feel like you need a safer bat, go with Joyce.
Thanks, all. I'm targeting Duda today. If everyone else in the league thinks he's a breakout and the bidding gets too high, I'll fall back on Joyce tomorrow.
