help with keppers

Postby kentx12 » Thu Feb 23, 2012 7:37 pm

I play in a 12 team h2h league. We keep 4 hitters and 2 pitchers. My options are very limited and I feel I have my keepers picked out but just want to run it by everyone here to make sure.

Berkman
Holliday
Gardner
Teixeira
Howard
Utley
Wright

My only SP options are

Greinke
Gallardo

So which 4 hitters do I keep?

Thanks.

There will come a day when Barry Bonds leaves baseball, and everything about the game will be the better for it.

I say Holliday, Teixeira, Utley, and Wright. Allows for position and skill set.

Holliday
Teixeira
Utley
Wright

I think I'd prefer to roll the dice on Utley. It's close though.

Yeah, I'll toss the bones on Utley before I keep Berkman too. If it were someone just a little better (or younger) than Berkman I might change my mind, but it's not.

Holliday, Tex, Utley and Wright.

You can't touch Howard.

Berkman had a great year last year, but who expected it? Can he repeat?

Gardner is a nice player, but I keep the others over him.

Utley is your biggest concern, but he should still put up 20/10 with solid R's, RBI's and BA. Not bad from 2B.

Please help;

Holliday and Tex are no-brainers. Then you can debate between Utley (injuries, declining production), Wright (declining production and really bad lineup), Berkman (older) and Howard (injury concern and likely is not back until May). I probably go with Wright and Howard myself if you can tolerate Howard being on the DL for awhile. I just think Utley's better days are behind him from a fantasy perspective and Howard when healthy will at least hit HRs for you.

Mediocre at best, sorry. You may want to attempt a trade with someone who has maybe 2 very good keepers but nothing after that, give up 2-3 of yours and get a top notch in return.
