Have Brad Pitt trade him to the Jays if you don't want him. He deserves better than Oakland.
Well they're both 4th place teams, so it can't be results you're referring to We'll have a new stadium shortly, so it can't be that either. What could you possibly mean?
Maybe Manny will have a huge year for Oakland and then the Jays can overpay him like they did with Frank Thomas in 2007 (and then some random Jays fan can create another one of these awesome (and in retrospect, incredibly hilarious) preview videos for 2013 that I just found saved on my computer): http://tinypic.com/player.php?v=sy5p9x&s=5)
Its a pretty sweet deal for Oakland. he brings some interest to the team, theres no financial risk for the team, they might end up with a legit impact bat for almost free, and if they do they can trade him at the deadline for parts that will actually help them contend in a few years (assuming the Giants are told to stop cockblocking the move to SJ)

I'm pretty sure that some combination of Pythagorean, BAPIP and FIP says that team was the best in baseball.

Hope so. Frank Thomas did talk about their "superstar lineup and superstar pitching" in there.
So thought we could revisit this thread for a quick minute. Manny is suposed to be starting his 10-game minor league rehab and then be promoted to the big club. Anyone using a bench slot to see what, if anything, he offers?
