Dmitri Young or Aramis?

Postby The Jury » Wed Mar 31, 2004 6:18 pm

It seems fairly close to me - I'm deciding which one to have, with batting average not a factor in my league.

I'm leaning towards Dmitri, any opinions?

I'd go with Ramirez. But they're about the same. With BA not being a factor that nudges Ramirez's value up a bit.

Since yahoo has D. Young eligible this season at 3rd...I think I have a winner. He has great power #'s and will give me no errors since E is a catagory...

Ash, that was kind of an awkward post, I can't really pinpoint why - but probably the context or the focus on you or something.. :-[

I took Young due to his 3rd base qualification and because he went five rounds after A.Ramirez. ;-D

Aramis Over D-Young

Postby Ry-Guy » Wed Mar 31, 2004 6:53 pm

Definitely take Aramis Ramirez over Dmitri Young.

In that lineup with Sosa, Alou, and Derek Lee, Aramis can hit over 30 HRs and drive in 100 runs.

Dmitri has always been an injury concern and he won't repeat his 2003 season. Detroit offers him no protection in the lineup and he won't have many guys to drive in.

Aramis Ramirez should go .285/31 HRs/102 RBI
Dmitri Young will do .295/24 HRs/90RBI

All things being equal, I'd take Ramirez over Young. Ramirez hits in a better lineup and better park.
Barry Bonds for US president.
