Postby rank my frizzle » Fri Feb 17, 2012 2:04 am

10 team keeper league 5x5 standard roto.

D Jennings: rd 23 (3 yrs)
C. Santana: rd 24 (2yrs)
Hellickson:rd 10 (3 yrs)

my last potential keeper is kimbrel at rd 14 (3 years eligibility), crawford at rd 3 (last yr to be kept), or gallardo at rd 4 (3 years eligibility).

I have 1st overall pick, and 13th, and 19th.

The draft will look somewhat like this:

5 - Cabrera (keeper)
6 - Pujols (keeper)
7 - upton
8 - Tulo (keeper)
9 - longoria
10 - hanley

10 - ellsbury
9 - Kinsler
8 - Wright
7 - Halladay (ME)
6 - Lincecum
5 - Bautista (keeper)
4 - Holliday
3 - Pedroia (keeper)
2 - Teixeria
1 - Reyes (keeper)

1 - CC
2 - Zimmerman
3 - Uggla
4 - Greinke
5 - Arod?
6 - Cano (keeper)
7 - (ME) (Crawford KEEPER..or draft someone like lawrie..yuck)
8 - Cruz (keeper)
9

As seeing this, who would you keep?? Thanks!

I'd go with Kimbrel. Even if is a closer he's awesome value at that point.

edit: i'd think i'd also prefer gallardo in the 4th round to hellickson in the 10th

In the 14th round, that value for Kimbrel is amazing, and would keep him for sure.

Both of these look pretty good. Kimbrel is the easy choice. As for Hellickson, I could go either way but I have been reading a lot of things lately that point to Gallardo possibly moving into an Ace this season. All his advanced stats are pointing to a top 10 SP, he just won't get a ton of wins. So at round 4 he is still a decent value and will give you much better numbers than Hellickson.

Yeah, you have to use that last spot on Kimbrel. Round 14 is very good value for him. I also agree about dropping Hellickson for Gallardo. More out of me not liking Hellickson much more than liking Gallardo in the 4th (which is reasonable). Hellickson needs to get that K rate up and BB rate down. His 2nd half last year was absolutely horrid, despite his lucky ERA.

Kimbrel in the 14th is a good slot/value for a top closer.
