Hey all and thank you for checking out this post. So I have to declare my keepers for my fantasy baseball league in about a week and it's hard for me to decide who to take. I get to have three keepers. When you take a keeper, you lose the pick in the round that they are ranked by ESPN. Here is who I am considering:
Michael Morse: Great upside, great season last year. Since he was in the bigs, done nothing but hit HR and bat around .300. #78 Konerko: Getting old, but my best offensive threat last year. What a beast. #41 A-Rod: Last year he was terrible, but maybe a crazy rebound? But he's really injury ridden. But man that comeback would be sweet. #72 Mauer: Young, so great for keepers. Last year he was hurt and was terrible really, but supposedly he's real healthy this year. He will definitely hit for average, but who knows about his power. And good catchers are hard to find, especially in keepers. #132 Youkilis: Always a fan favorite. #59 Ryan Howard: I could always take him and put him on my IR spot #151 Matt Cain: Incredibly sturdy, great for QS but not for Wins #48 Strasburg: Coming off Tommy John, but he pitched last year at the end and should be healthy. In a keeper, the sky could be the limit on this guy. #96 Brett Lawrie: Young up and comer, but he's supposed to be a beast. #90.
Thanks for the help. This is a 12 man league, standard scoring categories. Can't make up my mind here!
Strasburg and Lawrie are definites for me. Assuming a 12 team league that's 7-8th round value. The last spot is between A-Rod and Morse. Since you already have Lawrie, I would keep Morse. Good luck!

Strasburg, Cain and Lawire. I don't like keeping 2 SP but they are better than your other hitters. I don't think Morse has more upside than what he did last year. He hits HR but the BA is unlikely to stay above .300 so don't use last year as his baseline. I think he is a solid OF but someone you can get back in the draft. Having Cain and Strasburg will allow you to focus on hitting and grab SP much later in the draft.
