Dammit! F'n Yahooo just had to go and post that article on the front page about Strasburg definitely being limited to 160 innings... the other guy read it and it apparently swayed his opinion just enough to make him back out at the last second. Pretty annoyed but I cant blame him.
So another team has offered me his 3rd rd and 5th rd picks. This was the last place team from last year, so i would get the first pick in each of those rounds. Worth it?

Suspect defense? Ryan was the best SS by far. Guti and Ichiro in the outfield. Wait till Pineda watches ball after ball get by the range less Arod/Jeter/Cano.
I would keep Strasburg. His upside is so much higher then Pineda or Beachy.
I like taking the best keepers you can into the draft.

Yes i definitely agree. I was only trying to trade him because it a H2H league and hes gonna be awol upon H2H playoffs this year, and the additional 1st rd pick wouldve meant im guaranteed another top player.
But looks like I might be keeping him whether I want to or not... which will be great over the next several yrs. I guess I'll be targeting SP very early, since I wont have a single one on my roster besides Stras. Im cutting Lincecum so I really hope he gets back to me with my first open pick... im guessing there will be 3 picks made before my turn (everyone else should be keeping their 1st rounder from last yr), and all those teams are keeping multiple pitchers so the chances are fairly good. *fingers crossed*
I send Strasburg(20th rd) + Carlos Santana(10th rd, who i was going to drop) + my 16th rd pick for Cliff Lee (3rd rd) + his 3rd rd pick (26th overall, but around the 8th actual selection of the draft since most guys will be keeping their 1st/2nd round picks from last year. And I can keep Lee with my own 3rd rd pick.
In a vacuum he definitely got more value out of the deal, but I think this makes my team much stronger for this year. I was hoping to redraft Santana, but my offensive keepers are already strong enough that his loss wont hurt.
Based on the possible players you said you can draft, I would have no problem doing it. Then i would keep Beachy, The park change and probable innings jump for Pineda worry me
If you can snag a stud SS with that 3rd pick in the draft you got. I hope Reys or Hanley fall to you there. Then with the 9th pick you'd take an arm anyway. So one of those top arms you will get too.
With your sick 1b/3b/OF keepers (Bautista, Hosmer, etc) all you need is a stud SS and your team is set.
The best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be!
So now my Keepers are set: MCab 1 Lee 3 Bautista 5 JUp 6 Ellsbury 9 Granderson 12 Lawrie 22 Hosmer 24
I dont think I mentined it before but this league couints OBP and Hits (not Average) Both Hanley and Reyes are getting cut, along with Teixeira who I expect to go #1. so one of the 2 SS's will most likely make it to me. But with the offensive keepers I already have, would you really pass up Lincecum to get either Hanley or Reyes? Both SS's have huge question marks (both injury and performance wise) but Lincecum is a lock for 200+ innings, 200+ K's, low 3 era, 15 W. Having Lee and Timmy at the top of my rotation would be pretty sweet, with the added bonus being that, as a huge Giants fan, I'd get more enjoyment out of having him than any other player I could draft.
edit - Also i traded away Pineda for an 8th rd + a 14th rd pick.
