Jemile Weeks...breakout year?

Postby fantasyfiend11 » Wed Feb 15, 2012 11:24 pm

So I have the option of keeping Jemile Weeks for $1. He got called up last year and put up great numbers for the time he was on the ML roster. Is he worth keeping/top 10 2B worthy?

Depends on if you have a limited number of keepers and what your other options are, but in a vacuum, Weeks is definitely worth holding onto for $1. I have him ranked as the 12th 2B this year, right behind his brother.

Jemile has a limited ceiling. He's basically a 3 category guy and will hurt you in the two categories he doesn't help in. Like SF said, for $1 he's well worth the risk depending on your keeper rules and who your other options are.

Yes he is worth the $1. If you didn't keep him, what would you gain. You are going to need somebody like him at some point and he has some upside.

At $1, I'd say he is definitely worth it. But I don't know your keeper rules and what other options you have. Worse comes to worst, you dump him and get someone else.

Can he be a top 10 2B? Doubt it. Besides the limited ceiling issues that were already mentioned, he's been known to be a fair injury risk.

I think he is definitely worth keeping at $1. Is he a top 10 2B? Probably not unless he takes a step forward in his SB success rate. If that happens early, he will be given the green light more often. And if he can approach 40 SB (with a decent amount of runs and a .270+ AVG), I think that puts him in the top 10 in a standard format. Though I'm seeing being more likely to happen in 2013..

I would say a Brian Roberts esque 2b is worth keeping for a buck.
