PLEASE HELP..H2H, Keepers

Our league has been together for 6 years. We want to go to a auction draft w/keepers which we have never done before. What we can't figure out is how does the trading work with keepers?? If you have a player in his second year of being kept and you trade him...Does the recipient take on those 2 years or his slate wiped clean? I'm sure this is simple but we cant figure out the easiest way to do it. Thanks for any help you can pass along.

It is very important to the league that when a trade is made the contract and salary are traded as well. If the years reset on trades, you are going to see some shady deals with trades in order to reset their years.

What about only being allowed to keep drafted players. So any trades involving keepers would wipe their keeper status clear and the following year they would go back in the draft. Just trying to come up with a simple style to begin with. Do you see any major issues with this idea?

Having the 2 years of being kept transfer with the player will work, but so will the rule that only drafted players may be kept.

Personally I prefer the first option where the years of being kept transfer with the player traded.
