Help resolving an issue I forsee in H2H auction keeper...

I am running an H2H Auction keeper league where owners will be given a $100 allowance before the auction after the first season. The only problem I foresee me running into is how to handle players that were picked up post auction the year before... They will be able to keep whomever they want, as long as the salary combined stays below $100. They will use the amount they were bought at the year before + a small escalator of +3 in year two, +5 in year 3, +7 in year 4, and +10 in year 5...

What would be the best way to handle post auction pickups value for keepers sake the following year? I had originally planned on using Rotochamp and it's composite value but there appears to be a glitch in my logic because some players have - value and it throws the entire system off...

I would just pick a set amount, say $10, that free agent pick-ups can be kept for. this is what was done in the one auction keeper i've been in.

Good idea.. And would you recommend a yearly salary escalator or a fixed salary bump of like $5 a season? What are some things your other auction keeper has done to make things more interesting..

We are transitioning our standard H2H into a auction keeper as well. I like the $10 free agent price. I thinking about going with $5, $10, $15, etc. How you are doing trades involving kepers?

I haven't decided for sure just yet but I am leaning to the new owner taking on the amount the original owner paid, but starting over the escalation cost..

In our auction league we can keep up to 5 players a year. Instead of increasing each player kept by $5, each team chooses one player to increase their salary by $1, another by $4, $7, $10, and $13. The increases add up to $25, the same as amount as increasing each by $5. It adds a little more strategy to the keepers.

In our league, if a player is dropped he is not eligible to be kept. Only players drafted can be kept. I think it is the best way to go. $10 is ok, nothing less than that.
