Sounds like the consensus is Lester, but I don't see it. He wasn't actually that good in '11. xFIP on an upward trend, K/9 on a downward one, and he's never had a great WHIP to begin with. Plus there was that velocity dip after he came back from the DL.

With only 5 keepers I'd be fine going all hitters. How big is the league? If it's 14+ teams (and the extra category is favorable like walks or OPS) I'd take a long look at Butler. There are still decent 1B in the lower tiers but the difference between the top guys is just night and day. Better lineup around him, he's still young, and power sometimes develops late. This could be the year he puts it together. Jennings is a reasonable pick too, although I think people are going a little crazy with his upside. Napoli wouldn't be unreasonable if the league is big enough where replacement level C means Kurt Suzuki.

2B: Robinson Cano
3B: Ryan Zimmerman
OF: Justin Upton
OF: Mike Stanton
UTIL: Desmond Jennings

Pretty straight forward to me.

Thanks, guys. It's either Jennings or Lester...I'm actually leaning a bit toward Jennings. I'll be able to draft Lester/Shields or a comparable pitcher early on, and I should be able to put together a respectable staff.

With 5 keepers, I don't think you need to keep a pitcher... Napoli would be my choice.
When it comes to exaggerating, I always give 110%.

There are a ton of pitchers out there so I would suggest keeping Ackley or Napoli. Both play positions that can be hard to fill (2B/C). I don't know if Napoli can repeat what he did last year and I always worry about sophomore slumps but I say keep one of them and draft pitchers early.

Help with mine? viewtopic.php?t=439161
