This is a H2H, keeper league. We keep 7 players. 5X5 and I have the 2nd pick in the draft. Thanks! WHIR!

A bunch of those guys are obvious non-keepers, so I took them off of the list. You then figure you only keep 7, so several high-risk guys like Ackley, Pineda, Rodriguez, Upton, and Hanson get taken off. Because of that, I would lock the 2 pitchers in so you're not dead there (and finding a hitter at #2 is easier than praying Weaver isn't taken 1st). Now, we're at:
Billy Butler Carl Crawford Jason Heyward Eric Hosmer Desmond Jennings Michael Morse Dan Uggla Matt Wieters
Tim Lincecum Jered Weaver
While someone suggested Morse, I'm including him in the next round of cuts: The unproven guys. Butler is proven, but not as an elite fantasy option. Morse had one really good year, but he plays OF and 1B, 2 deep positions. We're at:
Carl Crawford Jason Heyward Eric Hosmer Desmond Jennings Dan Uggla Matt Wieters
Tim Lincecum Jered Weaver
So the plan is to cut 1 of the 6 remaining hitters. Heyward sounds optimistic about his 2012, but that doesn't excuse what DID happen last season--a total screwing over of fantasy hopes and dreams. I would let him go for that. That leaves my picks as:
Carl Crawford--He'll improve, but he might not be ready at the start. Eric Hosmer--He very well could be a nearly-elite 1B already. Desmond Jennings--He could go 20-40 this season with ease. Dan Uggla--2B is too shallow to let him go. Matt Wieters--C is similarly shallow, and he's starting to make good on that hype.
Tim Lincecum--How many pitchers have been as steadily awesome? Jered Weaver--As I said, he's the most-likely guy on your list to be taken 1st, so I would prevent that.

I like this. Thanks man and it makes a lot of sense. Was definitely hoping someone would encourage me not to keep A-Rod. I don't want to.
Hah, no problem. He's someone I've refused to roster in fantasy. In fact, I almost ALWAYS ignore Yankees players, though I've made exceptions for Gardner (former player) and Cano (on my team now).

For the 7th keeper I would go Trout or Pineda I personally don't trust Hanson or Morse

I like Trout as a keeper, but I'm not sure how much he gets to play this year. I'd keep him, if you don't see yourself competing this year. However, that's awful hard to tell before the draft actually takes place.
Also, since you have the 2nd pick, you may be able to draft him then if you really want him, but I think he's a year out yet.
