I keep going through catchers like water. I drafted Javy Lopez (because by the time I drafted a catcher there was nobody good left). Since then, I picked up Rob Fick, but traded him because he is too streaky for me. Then I picked up AJ Pierzynski and held him for a while until today. I dropped him and picked up Geronimo Gil. Do you think Gil will continue to put up solid numbers? I'm pretty happy with the rest of my team so I don't want to trade any of my other players right now and would rather take my chances in the FA pool.

This has been my take on that position this year. Since you don't own Piazza and 11 out of 12 teams don't, I think you're on the right track. Stick with who's hot for moment. If you can manage off-days from the catching position with strong starts elsewhere, I think you'll be fine. As to my knowledge, Gil has been very serviceable so far and you should stay with him as long as he is.

Gil looks pretty good right now - surprisingly so. He's certainly been quite a find for his owners this year. I'd like to see him walk a little more, but that's a very minor gripe.

I'm also trying to ride hot guys this year at C, dropped Gil too early, now I dropped Varitek before he hit a homer and had a great game, dropped Corky Miller but in his last game on my roster today he had a HR and two RBI...

So I end up having mediocre catchers on my team after a hot streak hahaha

I'm still second in the standings though, even after I traded Chipper Jones!

Hatteberg has been surprisingly good.

He's DHing all the time (although that may chance w/ Justice due to come back), and he's also playing 1B, keeping him fresher, and making him more versatile.
Looking forward to back to back championships in 2011!
