Can ESPN or Yahoo do this for my Lg?

Postby TomS31 » Sun Feb 05, 2012 2:47 pm

I have created a new Auction style draft Lg. We want to draft over the course of March. So what Im looking for is a site...
Where we can have a auction draft with no timer and either the site or the commish can end a certain player after x amount of time with no bids.
The adding of players to a team can be done at the time bid ends or manually offline by me thats not a huge deal I just want to create
a lg on a free site that can manage the bidding over the course of a month.

It doesn't have to be espn or yahoo other suggestions are welcome.

Thank you in advance.

I have never heard of a site with a slow auciton. That seems very impractical to me. Just get everyone together at the same time and have an online auction. ESPN does that.

Neither site can do that. It would need to be done on a forum or for a minimal fee you can hold it here:

We just held our leagues initial slow auction here and it ran wonderful. We then transfer our roster to the hosting site - i.e.e Yahoo. CBS, ESPN.

We (Yahoo) support live auction drafts. We do not inherently support a slow draft (standard or auction), but if you hold such a draft via some other means, we do support entering offline draft results, including auction costs if desired.

slow drafts and slow auctions are gaining in popularity, its tough enuf to get 14 people together for a 3 hour live draft, finding a time for a 5-6 hour auction where everyone can be there start to finish is increasingly difficult. Most slow auctions are done in a chat room or message board where players get awarded after a set amount of time with no bid. There is usually a couple going on in the Cafe Jan-March that seem to work just fine. Alot of work for the admin, but it gives the league a chance to fill rosters in a different and less stressful manor
