Auction League? Rules? Tools

Postby JoshFink » Thu Feb 02, 2012 1:36 pm

Hello, I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

We're looking to do an auction league this year for the first time. Sounds interesting and exciting. Need to shake things up after 15 years of the same thing.

I was wondering if anyone can point me to a good article or site on how to structure the league, set up the rules, best practices kind of thing.

I'm also looking for a good program to draft from (for me) as well as a good program to put up on the big screen for the draft to keep track of every team.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Josh

I use Diamond Draft. Excel based spreadsheet that is super easy to use. And by easy, I mean fast. Can track rosters and money left per team, amongst other features.

I don't suggest putting a program on the big screen though. Proper auction management includes strategically using end-game auction dollars. Different for all, but the impetus should be on the owner. You will find an auction requires constant individual attention throuhgout the process instead of just waking up every twenty minutes to make a pick.
