My league wants to implement some kind of tiebreaker. What would be a good tiebreaker for a 6x6 league with avg, hr, runs, sb, xbh and rbis; wins, holds, era, whip, k, saves? We are using espn...thanks

Not sure what option espn offers for ties. I think I like just using one stat like average for the tiebreaker. The commissioner suggested adding another hitting category. I didn't like the idea because then the league would favor hitting. Thanks for the ideas.

Don't hijack his thread. You already have your own going.........
Wasn't hijacking a thread, left my opinion on what he could use as a tie breaker, then left a link to help with mine. Could you please explain to me where I hijacked his thread? Just like in the Draft, Keeper help threads, you post your opinion and leave a link to yours.

You could always use head to head record, or division record if you are concerned about it influencing a particular catergory.

I'm sure there's not a hard rule against it, but the spirit of the forums is to keep that kind of stuff in Trades/Keepers/Waivers, where there's a lot of traffic and posts lose above-the-fold visibility quickly. Please don't turn the rest of the site into a giant circle jerk.

Did anyone else just go to a really scary visual place?
Back on topic: Basically, flip a coin. Make it one of the categories. In H2H leagues I like what Yahoo used to do- using ERA - because it makes choosing to start a pitcher or not an even bigger deal.
What I DON'T like is what Yahoo does now, which is use the regular season aggregate matchup. If you end a playoff game tied, the person who won more categories overall in that head to head matchup in the regular season wins. In my opinion the only thing that should count is that particular week. Use a tiebreaker but make sure it comes from that week's stats.
