My: Ike Davis ($5). Can be kept for next 3 years for $25 Total.
for
His: John Mayberry or Chris Heisey (both $1)/ Jameson Taillon (minors)/ and his #1 Farm pick.
1B is very short in this league. I have Ike, Goldschmidt ($19 and probably too expensive for a value keeper, will probably go for around $20 in auction), and Rizzo (minors).
I feel I have an opportunity to trade from a strength but don't exactly want to be left wanting either. Is this enough for Ike and how much are you guys putting on the ankle injury?
My other keepers with salary:
1B- Ike 5 2B-Espinosa 10 3B- R. Zimmerman 36 SS- Dee Gordon 5 OF- Braun 15 Kershaw 15 Wainwright 18 Motte 5 Volquez 2
Mayberry has huge power potential at a great price, but given the lack of 1B depth in the NL I'd hang onto Ike here. If Goldy looks good during the season then maybe I'd look to flip him.
What do you think might be available for the farm pick? I would agree that hanging onto Davis is smart right now, especially if his positional value is at a premium.
In an NL-only league, the 1B pool is really, really thin. No Albert, no Prince, and Howard out for who knows how long. Having the rights to Ike Davis, Anthony Rizzo, and Paul Goldshmidt should give you great leverage. I'd hold out for more for Davis.
That is what I was thinking. How do you feel about a $19 Goldschmidt as my tenth keeper. The only two 1B going to auction are Loney and LaRoche. Everyone else is kept, even the Matt Gamel and Bryan LaHair types. My only other keeper at ten would probably be a $5 Jerry Sands on a very early contract or a cheap backend starter type. I think Gold at auction value may turn into big trade return early as 4 teams are without a 1B.

Based on your posts and the league, I would keep Goldschmidt for that price.

Yep. If he breaks out you could ask for A LOT more.
