Moore vs Trout

Who is a better keeper long term, trout or moore? Standard 14 team 5x5 with with OBP instead of avg. My other keepers are kemp, j Upton, Lincecum, strasburg, and Napoli.

I currently have Trout as my last one (we have a rookie slot) but wondering if I should pursue Moore instead in a straIght swap.

Since you already have Lincecum and Strasburg, I would probably go with Trout. But keep in mind that Moore will start this year and Trout will have trouble finding playing time with so many Angels in the outfield.

I believe there's already a Moore vs. Trout thread. I will briefly restate my case though: Moore's ultimate upside is a legit ace, but Trout's upside is a top 15 player - Carl Crawford with power or Grady Sizemore with a .300+ AVG. Moore's path to playing time this year is pretty open, where Trout's is very muddled. I wouldn't count on Trout for anything in 2012, but for me he's the best long-term option. These are both really special talents and clear top 5 prospects. They're very close. But tie goes to the hitter.

I really like Moore and I am probably biased because I own him in a dynasty league. So saying that, I like Moore better. Trout is a really good but I have a hard time loving speedsters. I realize that Trout should have power and a 5 tool player but sometimes that doesn't translate to the majors as well. There are 5 tool guys that were great players in MLB but average fantasy players. For some reason I think of Torii Hunter with more speed who had some really productive fantasy years but just never was a top 20 player.

I could be way off here and only time will really tell. Moore is by no means a sure thing either but I just think we are more assured with who he is going to be than Trout.

Trout's upside is that of a 1st rounder. Pitcher's rarely go that high. But Moore is closer & is more of a sure thing, IMO. I'd go with the known quantity here.
