Do you think this is a fair counter offer?

Postby Paws » Fri Jan 27, 2012 12:42 am

I was offer Chris young, Mark Reynolds and James Shield for Ellsbury.

I turn that down and counter with McCutchen and Ryan Zimmerman for Ellsbury. I don't think he will go for it but I can't give him up for the first offer.

Should I keep the offer or pull it?

eh it's ok, but when i'm giving up the best player in the deal i usually only do it because someone is overpaying. did you already draft or is this a dynasty league or what?

i assume this is a $260 auction league? if so that's a great price on ellsbury and i'd have to be blown away to deal him. what are the prices on mccutchen and zimmerman?

I pulled the trade offer. I figure he will see it and if he is still interested then he can send me another.

The Cap is $260. McCuchen is $1 and Zimmerman is $12. I could ask for Heyward $1 also. Although I don't know if he will go for a 3 for 1 like that.

Thanks for the advice. I need some hitters and I am affraid there won't be much left in the auction but I don't want to give away one my best players and not really improve my hitting.

Ellsbury @ 14 is a steal. I'd have to be blown away to deal him. I would pass.

I would DEFINITELY make that trade.

Yes, Ellsbury has an insanely good price tag too. BUT McCutchen costs $1?! Really only $1??? That certainly trumps Ellsbury's value IMO. And Zimmerman would be very nice too as $12 is good value as well.

I agree with Urban. I don't see Ellsbury putting up the numbers he did again this year. $14 is still a great price, but McCutchen at $1 is just ridiculous. Combined McCuthcen and Zimmerman will cost you less than Ellsbury. Make the trade. ;-D

Some odd prices there like an $11 Vlad and $23 Mad Max, but if Cutch is really $1 you've got the explore that. You have Ells for a great price, assuming the power is legit, otherwise you have him for a merely good price. If you can get McCutchen and Zim for those prices, I think that's a great bargain.

The price are because some of the players were pick up as rookies and kept or trade never went back in the auction. Thus those players get kept at low prices. Then there is more money left at the auction and thus with less talent the price inflates on who is left.
