What do you think of this guy? His numbers looked good in a brief stint last year. I heard he was a knuckleballer, is this true?

I'm pretty sure he is not a knuckleballer. I don't think I would count on him for much. He plays for the Reds for gosh sakes and they suck. Hold off and wait and see how he does.

Acevedo is a young guy with alot of upside in my opinion. Not a knuckler though. I think he could be a solid #3 starter for the Reds, and while its true they do suck he will get some opps this year as a result. Hes already taken his lumps in the big leagues, now its time for him to mature, or not..... :-)

Acevedo Could Shock

Postby Ry-Guy » Wed Mar 31, 2004 7:02 pm

Acevedo has great stuff. He may be the best pitcher out there that NO ONE talks about. The only thing that scares me a bit is he pitches in that Band Box. However, he'll play the Pirates and Brewers a lot this year and could be a great match-up pitcher. Monitor his progress early on and see how he shakes out.
