12 team league. I traded a surplus of pitching for great young hitting talent last year.

On the Fence (5):
David Wright
Carl Crawford
Jay Bruce
David Price
Brian McCann

According to early MDP reports, Brian McCann is going last out of this group at 60.10. However, the catching category is so thin, making Brian McCann a huge asset. Additionally, I'm hesitant to drop Jay Bruce due to his age and future potential. Carl Crawford makes me queasy after last year and his wrist injury to start this year. David Wright, finished last year strong showing signs of his former status. David Price is huge, considering he's my only top tier SP.

In my mind it's boiling down to Brian McCann versus Carl Crawford. Am I wrong in thinking dropping Carl Crawford is the right move? With my supply of outfielders, Crawford currently occupies a DH slot on my roster. In the draft I'd then be able to just select the best overall hitter available.

with Price being the only pitcher I would have to have him in.
it would be a big plus to have a top catcher, so McCann for me would be in.
Bruce has a lot of potential, and still only 25. he would have to be in.

I think it would be between Crawford and Wright. I haven't heard anything on his wrist, so it''s a tough decision.
I think Wright will have more HR, and Crawford will have more SB.
both did not hit well last season, but both should be close to .300 AVG? Wright career is .300 AVG and Crawford career is .293 AVG.
factor in lineups. Crawford likely bat lower in the lineup than Wright will in his lineup. but still the Red Sox lineup I think is better.
factor in positions, maybe Wright being 3B and 3B isn't that deep that would give Wright the edge? where as you would already have 4 OF with Kemp/Upton/Ellsbury/Bruce.
I would say Crawford is on the outside.

I think I would let Crawford go. I am worried about that wrist injury and you have just so much talent that he is the one big question mark. Almost everyone else you know what you are going to get and he just could go either way here.

For me the cut is Crawdaddy. A lot of questions about the health of his wrist and return, and you've already got three monster OF in Kemp, Upton and Ellsbury. You'll have a full infield of stars at every single position, and for good measure, you've got a 4th OF in Jay Bruce who has stretches where he absolutely crushes the ball and could put it all together at any time.
