Swisher/Perez deal

Postby pungent » Tue Jan 24, 2012 8:02 pm

Considering my Catcher situation and the health issues of Reyes, would you make this trade??

Swisher and Vogelsong

4

Salvador Perez and Ian Desmond

I can spare an OF, but I feel I might be giving too much on my end.

Thanks in advance!

I'm really indifferent towards that deal.

How many teams are in your league?

Ramos is an OK catcher. I would rather have him than Perez, but I really don't see that big of a difference between either. As far as Desmond goes, I don't think you really need him. Yeah, it would be nice to have a backup SS on your roster since you have so many OF. Swisher is a decent, but a bench player on your team. I don't like Vogelsong much. Maybe counter Swisher for Desmond if you really want a backup SS.

I don't really like it either. Swisher is solid but Vogelsong will regress this year. Don't do it.

please help

Of those 4 players you have spare parts and Swisher. You're giving up too much for a backup SS and a lateral move at C.

Bench OF and a number 5/6 SP for a secondary C and backup SS. I'd stick with what you have and avoid the hassle.

I guess I am on the other side. I say go ahead with the trade. You don't need Swisher and Perez could be a pretty good C. I think it gives you some different depth and if you think that will help your team go for it. This isn't a deal that will hurt your team either way and there is more upside in what you are getting but the floor is also lower.

Thanks for the replies!

16 team dynasty. Roster 32, keep 25.

I'm definitely on the fence with this trade. I understand this isn't an impact trade, but would like to sell Vogelsong for some young talent while his stock is slightly higher. I could trade Vogelsong straight up for Perez, but I'm a sucker for Ian Desmond. I can see him eventually being a 20/20 guy, but his avg and Ks wont b that great. I just can't rationalize trading Swish straight up for Desmond. Plus I'm giving 2 "starters" for 2 "bench" spots.

Confused...
