In a 10-team HTH keeper league, with weekly starting lineup of C/1B/2B/3B/SS/3OF/DH/2SP/2RP. We are able to keep 9 players...6 position players, 2 starting pitchers and 1 relief pitcher, with no term limits. We can also keep 2 rookies/prospects from prior season and they are added to roster in addition to the 9. The stat cats are pretty basic with 14 each for hitting and pitching. If I missed any details of interest, please let me know. Here is my roster at the end of last season...
C: Miguel Montero/Russell Martin 1B: Albert Pujols/Mark Teixeira 2B: Ian Kinsler/Jemile Weeks 3B: Evan Longoria/Casey McGehee SS: Troy Tulowitzki/Asdrubal Cabrera OF:Carlos Gonzalez/Hunter Pence/Mike Stanton/Nick Swisher SP: CC Sabathia/Jon Lester/Ricky Romero/Max Scherzer/Ivan Nova/Jhoulys Chacin/John Danks/Ricky Nolasco RP: Mariano Rivera/JJ Putz/Fernando Salas Rookies: Jesus Montero/Craig Kimbrel
My position keepers are 6 of these...Pujols, Teixeira, Kinsler, Longoria, Tulowitzki, CarGo, Pence and Stanton, which means I would need to throw 2 back into the draft. My pitching keepers are Sabathia, Lester and Rivera. In addition, Montero and Kimbrel would also go onto my roster.
I have been offered the following deal...Miguel Cabrera, Robinson Cano, Jose Reyes and Heath Bell for Albert Pujols, Ian Kinsler, Troy Tulowitzki and Carlos Gonzalez. So basically a swap of 1B/2B/SS and Bell for CarGo.
The deal basically lets me replace Mo with the best possible closer option. Love Mo, but the end is nearing. So that leaves me with Cabrera, Cano, Longoria, Reyes, Stanton and either Teixeira or Pence.
Any thoughts? Should I do it or stand pat? Please leave a link and WHIR for sure!

That seems like it's not basic at all.

Mcab, Cano, Reyes for Pujols, Kinsler and Tulo is an even trade in my book. You lose a little in a keeper going from Miggy to Pujols, but you gain it right back and more going from Reyes to Tulo.
The fact that you're basically trading Bell for Cargo makes this an auto-accept in my book.
I would not do this trade. Pujols and Miggy is basically a wash, and Kinsler/Tulo evens out Cano/Reyes.
CarGo, however, is worth way more than Bell, especially in your league, where you have 3OF + DH and only 2RP. In a 10-teamer, that means every team has 2 active closers, with room to spare. PLUS, you're also "giving up" Rivera in this deal, because you can't keep him, and I'd honestly rather have him than Bell next year.
I decline that trade. Bell is going to suffer some moving from SD to MIA. Mariano Rivera, while old, is still very good. Just make sure you draft a younger closer at the start of this season. That way when Mariano retires, you have a young guy to replace him. Trading Cargo for Bell is not good.
I throw back Kinsler and Pence as your other 6 guys are clearly better. Next, I look to trade Kinsler + Pence or Kinsler + Elite Keeper for a better elite keeper. For instance- Kinsler + Tex for Cano may not be bad. Or Kinsler + Tex for Miggy would be better. Something like that.
It seems like I am the only one high on kinsler.... But I would toss back tex and pence. If you don't have cano, you want pedroia or kinsler. 1b is deep and tex is on the decline. Kinsler is an injury risk for sure, but his upside is crazy.
bTW, the trade is an easy no for me. A very easy no.

FWIW a 'declining' Tex hit 39 HR last year. I'll take that all day.
