I've been treading water in a long standing keeper league that has a pretty weak keeper system.
You can keep any six players, no matter where they were drafted, for no matter how long and without any salary system. If you don't keep six players you get an additional pick at the end of the first round (7th overall) round.
The league is a standard 12-team, 5X5 head-to-head with the only exception is having Quality Starts in lieu of wins.
I've boiled by keepers down to the following six of the following 7:
Lance Berkman Jose Bautista Ryan Braun Michael Morse Ryan Howard Heath Bell CJ Wilson
Right now, I'm leaning towards keeping everyone except Heath Bell. Does that make the most sense? No one in the past 6 seasons has kept a closer, and there usually is a closer run after the second round anyway.
What should I implore as a drafting strategy? With Braun & Howard out early, it'll have to be a second half team. The top 65-70 players will be kept, so I'm looking at Howie Kendrick, Logan Morrison territory.
Any help, much appreciated. Just looking for some direction in a relatively unfair league.
