Farnsworth is the closer in Tampa but I still wouldn't expect over 25-30 saves. Maddon loves to use matchups instead of his "closer", so he will not get all the save opps.
If the bidding was $12 for Farns, pretty sure I wouldn't be the 1 going 13. you badly in need of closers? I know you aren't giving up all that much, just not sure you'd be getting $13 worth of value back

Oh, I should have mentioned that we have a $350 cap instead of a $260.
So I suppose that makes Farnsworth a $9.5 contract in a standard league.
I need to fill 2 RP spots, and figured Farnsworth could be decent if he keeps the job.
I think I'd stand pat. I'm not sure I buy Vogelsong, but at that price I'd probably want to find out. So many things can happen with Farnsworth.... TB hasn't had a consistent closer, like, ever. He could be bad. He could be good and get traded. Plus in a 14 team league I can't imagine it's too hard to find good RP on the wire. Wait until Betancourt implodes and then grab Brothers or something.
No way I'd take Farnsy as anything other than a trade toss-in. His career has been totally inconsistent from year to year, and TB does not have a track record of holding on to closers, either.
I think I wouldn't do it. Farnsworth is ok but I would rather have Vogelsong and Viciedo who has potential to be good. You could get better for what you are giving up.
Feh, I would do it if you needed a closer. You say it's only for 2012, right? Well, I don't see Vogelsong, Williams, or Viciedo doing anything truly impressive this year. I say go ahead and get a guy who could at least hang onto the job and get 20 saves, as well as a decent bat in Thames (Eric Thames, not Marcus Thames I presume).
