Catcher/designated hitter Victor Martinez suffered a torn ACL in his left knee during his off-season conditioning last week, according to the Tigers. Surgery is anticipated, which the Tigers say would cost Martinez the 2012 season.

I was close to actually $topping$ him in my league rules, just because Catchers are such a weak position.

Makes my keeper list a bit easier.

Ouch , I kept him in 2 tough private leagues. I also own Braun in one of those legues. Guess I'll have my work cut out for me if I want to make the playoffs.

That sucks...I like Victor the player but it makes it that much more likely KC can stay in the race with them into Sept....any news on Verlander yet? I kid, I kid

I traded away his RFA weeks ago and now really wish I hadn't. It would have been nice to sign him super cheap, give him a 2-year deal, and stash him on my DL for the entire season.
