What are the 2 best options for a 6x6 H2H $260 league where OPS is important (holds is the 6th stat for pitching)? I get to put 2-4 more years on any of them.
Zimmerman @ $16 Shields @ $13 Ortiz @ $13
I have a pretty stacked team in both hitting and pitching, so I just wanted to get opinions from you guys?
Sorry that would be Ryan Zimmerman. Here's the other players that have contracts on my team....
C - Matt Wieters 2b - Neil Walker SS - Elvis Andrus RF - Carlos Gonzalez CF - Matt Kemp UTIL - Jason Heyward P- Tommy Hanson P- Roy Halladay P- Colby Lewis P- Zack Greinke P- Madison Bumgarner P- Mike Adams BN- Edwin Jackson BN- Justin Masterson
(Also have rights to Michael Morse and Ian Kennedy )

Zimmerman is good at $16 though for how long, I am not sure. I wouldn't want to give him very long as he has had a hard time staying healthy so who knows how he will age. But he is just hitting his peak age so we could see the best from him yet.
I wouldn't keep Ortiz. Too many questions about him and he is very much on the decline. Either get him back in the auction for a similar price or let someone else deal with him.
Shields I would probably keep but I wouldn't do more than 2 years. The price is great if he has actually figured something out. I am not betting that he did but I think it is worth a gamble. $13 is a good price for a middle of the pack SP and an amazing price for a top of the rotation SP. I wouldn't cut him just yet, at least see if he has another year in him.

I would go with Zimmerman (Ryan) and Shields. I wouldn't give Shields more than 2 years. For Zimmerman, I guess it would depend upon the prices for the rest of the 3B in the league. If his salary of $16 is good value, I would keep him for a few years (probably 3). He has had injury problems, but it still relatively young and should be improving. Especially since the Nat's order looks solid right now.
Thanks for the responses. I am definitely leaning toward Shields and Zimmerman, but Ortiz's numbers last year aren't to be ignored (although I believe his career is on the decline). Maybe I will still try to snag him up in an auction.
One final unrelated question....
I also have Gordon Beckham for $6 and a few years left on his contract, I already have Ackley and Walker as 2B options. Should I just let go of Beckham and his remaining contract?

Oh yes. Between Ackley and Walker you'll never want to start Beckham and he'll just be eating that $6 for no reason.
