Valverde is closing due to Mantei's injured fingernial. He will get his job when he is able. Although the Diamondbacks are trying to trade him and his salary. There just don't seem to be any takers yet.

I don't want any pitchers named balfour. Latroy Hawkins is my bet and could be huge.

the only thing huge in that situation will be Hawkins ERA, he absolutely bombed as the Twins' closer a couple years ago

3 nose surgeries for Donnelly? Well somebody's been in California too long. I understand how it can affect your breathing, but can't they just fix him up, put some sort of tubes in there to prevent the passage from closing, and let him pitch? I don't see how a nose injury can sideline a pitcher for 2 months. I remember during an AllStar pre-game show when Cal Ripken had his nose broken from I think Jose Mesa (did Mesa actually make an AllStar game?) and they were joking that it would end Ripken's streak. But seriously, wtf happened to him? Did his nose get torn off completely or something?
