So much for Fielder going to the Cubbies, and all the talk Theo said yesterday about LaHair being there 1B for 2012.
Cubs acquired 1B Anthony Rizzo and RHP Zach Cates from the Padres in exchange for RHP Andrew Cashner and OF Kyung-Min Na. The Cubs were viewed as a logical landing spot for Rizzo ever since the deal that landed Yonder Alonso in San Diego, as the Northsiders need a first baseman of the future and president of baseball operations Theo Epstein drafted him when he was with the Red Sox. Leaving Petco for Wrigley Field is great news for Rizzo's fantasy prospects, as Wrigley is favorable for left-handed batters and he should get a chance to start right away.

Agreed about the Padres. Tough to get a handle on their offseason.
As I see it for the Padres. Grandal, Alonso and Cashner for Latos and Rizzo with the Padres coming out ahead with more spare parts. Most think that Rizzo about equal to Alonso so that leaves us with Grandal and a RP'er for Latos. Latos is an ace that's in arb for years.
The main thing that can be said about this trade, is that Josh Byrnes needs one of these..........
It doesn't matter if Cashner magically becomes a decent closer, this is an absolute hosing. And Theo somehow talked a lottery ticket SP into the deal as well

I really LOL at this. I like what Theo is doing in Chi town.
Fantasy sports are ruled by the 50-50-90 rule...
Anytime you have a 50/50 choice between two players, 90% of the time, you'll get it wrong
