Im in a 15 team league we get to keep 11 guys. Im keeping Lincecum, David Price, Ervin Santana, Asdrubal Cabrera, Sterlin Castro, Prince Fielder, Alex Gordon Kyle Fransworth and Joe Nathan for about 52% of my budget....
I have been offerd Nelson Cruz, Jordan Walden, Shane Victorino, Dexter Fowler and Justin Smoack for Lincy and Ryan Roberts(I might have kept him also but wasnt sure yet).
My new team after the trade would cost me about 63% of my budget but would bring me back a closer and 2 OF(cruz and victorino), maybe a 3rd in Fowler not to mention 1 more trading pieces for later in the off season.
Is it worth it? Categories are Bat Avg, Walks, SB, Runs, RBI and Slg % for hitters. Wins, Saves, Holds, ERA, Whip and K's for pitching.
Lincecum is worth 10.1% of my budget.
Thanks in advance everyone.

Just using actual dollar figures for players involved would seem to be easier to look at and give an opinion.Value wise it is probably ok, roster wise it really makes you a hitting and closer heavy roster. Are there aces to be had in auction?
With a 100 budget-Fielder14.2, Castro 4.1, Cabrera 6.1, Gordon 2.1, Lincecum 10.1, Price 6.1, Santana 3.2, Nathan 2.1.
The guys id be getting back are Victorino 12.1, Fowler 6.1, Walden 2.1, Cruz 8.8 and Smoack 4.8.
Pitching wize i think Roy Holladay, Ozwalt, Hamels, and maybe CC Sabathia to be available other than that it will be middle tear guys available.

Thanks I am still torn on this one. Cruz and Victorino would boost my offence and with Walden it would give me 3 closers to bargin with during the off season. Still debating it a bit.

I was thinking the same thing. Its a tough choice for me. I know he and Kershaw are the only two that would probably top 230K's but all those bats in return would be great. The extra closer would be a nice addition adn I know I would be able to trade later in the off season for others. Still torn on this one right now.

My plan was to trade Fowler/Smoack/ and one of the closers or even 2 of them for better options later in the off season. If I was to make this trade my keepers would be...Fielder, Cabrera, Castro, Cruz, Victorino(maybe), Gordon, Price, Santana, Nathan, Walden and Fransworth. All these guys would cost me about 60% of my budget

I agree. You're getting a good return in value and it makes your team better, but I'm willing to bet there are ways to make your team just as good at a more reasonable price. I'm assuming salaries increase every year? If you let yourself take on too many bad contracts you can put yourself in a terrible situation where you can't contend and can't get decent value for your players.
